Moorland Gem in South Devon!
Teignmouth Golf Club, founded in 1924, was designed by the legendary architect Dr Alister MacKenzie who went on to design Augusta National 9 years later. Although Teignmouth has many fast slopey greens, it is a a very different golf course to Augusta as it is moorland course located 800 feet above sea level.
Heavy investment has been put into the free draining moorland course and it has been an official England Golf venue in 2024 (as well as Devon County Championships host) with rumours that it will be entering the Top 100 in England rankings in the next year or so. Teignmouth isn't long by modern day standards playing as a par 69, 6100 yards, but it offers a tough test of golf with its firm and fast running fairways, tricky fast greens and abundance of heather and gorse that line many of the fairways.
Green fees are around £60 in the peak season but you can make a saving on your tee times by including a round at Teignmouth in one of our South Devon golf break packages.
